March 2008 Featured Ride:
Congratulations: Dan "DRCJasper"

First off, I want to say Thank You to the
entire SVTsnake staff. I’m honored you would think of my stang for ride of the
month. Well, I’ve loved cars as long as I can remember but the car that really
got my interest was a 93’ LX vert my dad taught me to drive stick in. For years
I drooled over powerful cars growing particularly interested in classic rides.
So, when the new Mustang convertible was set to hit the streets just a few
months before I graduated, I had to have one. It seemed like the perfect chance
to have a classic looking mustang with all the comfort and reliability of a new
car.
So, I ordered it in Feb. 05 just 1 month before production started on the
convertibles. It took 6 long months to take delivery but in August 05 I finally
had my vert. Shortly after, my brother MJ, who I owe a special thanks to, had an
01 Cobra vert. at the time and invited me to check out an SVTsnake track rental.
I had anticipated a few years of friendly rivalry between our cars but his
terminator changed that. None the less, after that day, I was hooked.
The car went 13.7 bone stock. After that I started with some small stuff, a MAC
exhaust and underdrive pulleys, followed by lowering springs and a chin spoiler.
Finally, I was tired of waiting for more power and before long I had added a set
of CMCV delete plates, JLT intake, o/r H pipe, some 4.10’s and a tune. The cars
current best to date has been 12.9 at 108 on a set of M/T drags with a 1.8 60’.
The car has more in it for sure.
I still plan on doing a set of long tube headers, maybe cams, and some
suspension/brake work as well as a ducktail spoiler. Include the recently added
Saleen S wheels and I’ll be all ready to start a project racecar soon. LOL, the
disease never ends, I’m sure it won’t for me!
