August 2007 Featured Ride:
Congratulations: JAVSVT "Javier"

I am very honored to be chosen as the Featured Ride this month, thanks to all of the SVTSnake Staff for choosing my car.
My addiction to mustangs actually started when I met my wife, her family was big into mustangs. One night I was looking through a mustang book and said I’m going to get one of these 93 Cobras. A few months later I had one, and the love for mustangs began.
This particular Roush was originally purchased by Vic Edelbrock for his daughter as a daily driver in California from Galpin Ford. It was in a small clip on the show “Overhaulin” as Cammee Edelbrock discussed with Foose about a motor Edelbrock was building for a corvette. I saw this car for sale online when I was on vacation, and told my wife I wanted it. I called Edelbrock Corp., sold my 03 GT, and flew out there to see it. It was quite an experience. They gave me a tour of the facilities, and I saw some interesting test vehicles. Edelbrock signed and dated the car for me on the glove box door. Jack Roush also signed the Roush trunk tool kit. I have a picture of Vic Edelbrock standing next to the car in his museum, taken before I purchased the car.
One thing I changed is the lettering on the side when I purchased it. The side originally read 360R, when it is fact a Stage 3. The 360Rs came with the stripes, when the Stage 3 did not. But Cammee Edelbrock wanted the stripes so they put them on for her. A 360R is indeed a Roush, but does not come with the suspension or the brakes, but does come with the Roush supercharger.
This Roush is 1 of 58 stage 3’s produced in 2002, and 1 of 11 in torch red. They made 130 stage 3’s between 02-04, and 2001 was the first year of the supercharged Roush, but unsure about how many stage 3’s were made. There were 176 total Roush mustangs made in 2001.
Horsepower rating to the flywheel is rated at 360hp and 375tq, but Camee ordered the computer upgrade from Roush to bring it up to 380hp and 379tq. Since I’ve had it, I installed the 2.8 pulley and the cold air intake, so it’s making about 400 flywheel hp. It ran a best of 12.63 at 109 mph on drag radials which also was only my second time at the track. Suspension was fully setup for the road course with Roush springs, and Bilstien shocks, and sway bars. Brakes were also installed, and Roush used Alcon brakes with 14 inch rotors in the front and 13 inch in the rear. Roush installed a set of Magnaflow mufflers that exit from the side, could be a little louder, I am working on that, LOL.
I’ve met a lot of cool people on this site, and as the site grows, look forward to meeting some more. Thanks to my wife for letting me enjoy my pastime, and I can’t wait for my 7 month old son to get a little older, so he can really enjoy the car scene. Thanks again everyone.
