December 2005 Featured Ride:
Congratulations: Juicehead (Tommy)

Well where to start. I guess I fell in love with the Ford Mustang way before I was able to drive. My older sister had a few boyfriends with Mustangs and they would pick me up and drop me off places. The one day her boyfriend let me drive. A stock 80’s hatch with a 5.0 and a stick. I still remember that day; I just popped the clutch and smoked the tires through first and second. This was the day I fell in love with Mustangs. I was never allowed to drive his car again, but in a few years I bought my own.
I bought an 89 hatch when I was 17, painted it dark green, through a 150 shot and a set of drag radials on it and I was having a blast. Around the same time I started working part-time for a friend’s auto repair shop. He drove a pro-mod and taught me a lot of the fundamentals of racing, and got me heavily involved in the sport.
From then I had a few other fox body stangs, and a few Nissan pathfinders. It came to a point my pathfinder was my daily driver with 33’s and a 6” chasis lift. After beating the balls off this truck, I finally screwed up the motor big time. It was finally time for a new ride.
I started looking for a Mustang in 2001 and just didn’t like the style that much. I was set on buying an older 60’s style stang that was mostly re-done. Then one day I walked into Ford and they told me there was (1) Bullitt left on the island. I had heard about the Bullitt, but never saw one. The dealer told me someone had reserved this car, but was almost past due the time they had to pick it up by. Also, I could get this brand new car for 0% financing for the life of the loan. I did a test drive and was in love.
Well a few mods later (exhaust, CAI, and chip tune), I was running 13.2 @ 102 on street tires. It took many trips to the track to achieve this and I was destined to go faster. The engine went eventually and I really couldn’t tell you why. Next mod VT 302 stroker long block. The car runs well into the 12’s now. It has a ton of mods and has gone a best of 12.3 @ 109 (Currently the fastest NA Bullitt). I swapped out the 3.73 gears for 4.10’s and blasted off some 12.4’s @ 111, but not a new best.
Since then I’ve added the NOS Nozzle Kit, jetted for a 125 shot. First time out, smoking the clutch and on the wrong tune it went 11.4 @ 118 (3rd fastest PA Bullitt) and it’s a f’n blast to drive. I love this car on the street and on the track. I know it will go faster with some minor tweaks and am looking forward to driving this car for the many years to come.
I would like to give a big special thanks to Mustang Magic for building and tuning my car and to SVTSnake and its members for creating this wonderful family of Ford enthusiasts.
