Whats up guys, the adventure with this car started back in
1/03. i walked into a dealership, to look at a used triple black 2001 cobra vert.
when i walked into the showroom, i seen one of the most beautiful cars ive ever
seen, right in the middle of the floor , under a spot light , with the hood
open. a 2003 dsg cobra. the salesman at that dealership wouldnt budge on the
price, $35,000 + $5,000 over sticker and all the other goodies, even though i
told him i wanted the car right then and there and was paying cash. so i went to
another dealer, and when i pulled up , i seen 10 - 03 cobras , sitting on the
lot, but none the color i wanted. so i had to go through the torturous process
of ordering one and waiting 2 months.
I said to my girlfriend , this car rus 12's stock!!! i aint touching it, thats
way fast enough for me!! lol , yea right!!
I wound up , finding out , how easy it was to make these cars go rediculously
fast.so i started to research. and wound up meeting one of the smartest guys in
the mustang seen, Jimmy Vaccaro. Jimmy has been there for me since day one,
helping me make descions on which way to go with modding my car. at this point ,
he just gave me advice on , what size pulley to go with, a 2.93.
So , there i was with my first setup in hand, a SFPH 2.93 pulley , a diablo chip
, A.R. cai and magnaflow catback. all for $900. at this point , i never knew
about the boys at mustang magic, so i went to laroccas performance in new
jersey, also a good shop. within a few hours , i drove out of there with 452
rwhp and 466 rwtq and had , the biggest kool-aid smile , you could imagine!!
The next week , i went to the track , for the first time with the beast and ran
on f1's , in 80+ degree weather, and wound up running a 12.11 @ 119.83 , with a
2.1 60'. i was flipping out to say the least. after that , i wound up buying a
pair of bfg drag radials and thats where the fun began!! first time on bfg's , i
went 11.90 @ 120 , on a 2.0 60'. then on the next visit , i went 11.69 @ 120 ,
on a 1.83 60'. and then finally , went 11.52 @ 122.54 on a 1.73 60' , with a
blown clutch.
After that, i wound up porting my blower, changing to a 2.75 RR pulley, adding a
prochamber and finally getting a real tune done by Joe at Mustang Magic. after
these changes , my car was putting out 516 rwhp and 498 rwtq!!
With the added power , i went with a spec 3 clutch , stage 5 dss axels, m.j.'s
brace and a maf extender, to keep my maf from pegging.
I went back to the track , for the first time with this power and for the first
time running a set of et streets and ripped off an 11.15 @ 125.31 on a 1.68 60'.
after that , i thought 10's would come easy, but i was in for a rude awakening.
those last few tenths , dont come easy. with several tries under my belt, i
wound up running a best of 11.06 @ 125.89 on a 1.61 60. all my runs are done at
full weight , of 3890 #'s with me in it and 18" chrome rims.
Since then , i have installed a Compucar in a bag nitrous kit. along with a
window switch (3000-6000), wot switch, bottle warmer and pressure gauge. i only
ran a 30 shot , since i was completely out of fuel. with the 30 shot my car made
550+ rwhp and 550+ rwtq , but wasnt safe. so at the track , i added a litle race
gas for protection and wound up running my first 10 ever , 10.99 @ 128.49!! i
was the happiest person in the world at this point, but i still wanted more.
Joe at Mustang Magic , kept telling me , to get bigger injectors and pumps. so
finally i listened. with the addition of 55# injectors, that were actually given
to me by Eric (00svtdubs), for free!! and a KB - B.A.P. , i was able to retune
the car and with the help of one of joes magical tunes i made an amazing 578
rwhp and 612 rwtq , with only a 30 shot of spray!!!
With that power, i wound up running a 10.85 @ 129.58 , shifting at only 5800,
just making sure everything was working right. then when i came around again ,
my alternator blew. which in turn ended my racing season for 2004.
Within the next few weeks , i will be going back to MUSTANG MAGIC , to install ,
focus pumps, a pro-m meter, and hitting it with a 75-100 shot of nitrous!!
hopefully , that will be good enough for 10.50's. well see , soon enough!!!

modding process, and for introducing me to big joe and the boyz' at MUSTANG
MAGIC. ive put the joe and the boyz , through many late night terrors, of having
to get the car done, and never once did they let me down. there just a great
bunch of guys and an awesome shop!! id also like to thank all the members of
svtsnake for being such a great group of people!! and giving me the chance to
talk about my POS!! lol
